DAY 6: SETTING GOALS

There are a lot of ways to chase your goals. Here are the three TOP TIPS to help you STAY MOTIVATED (the key to achieving goals).

SPECIFIC

Set a goal that is as specific as possible. Break down bigger goals into shorter-term mini-goals.
Goal: Improve my mile time.
Improved Goal: Run a mile in 7 minutes by Sept. 1.

OBSTACLES

Lots of things can get in your way. When you are mapping your goal (organizing steps to chase after it), think of all the things that WILL get in your way. For each obstacle, come up with a possible solution.

PURPOSE

Knowing WHY you want to chase any goal is key to staying ON the chase. Having a meaningful (to you) goal purpose is critical to maintaining motivation, especially when it gets hard.

COMMUNITY RESPONSE

POWER OF VULNERABILITY

So many AU Futures player submitted HARD TRUTH responses. This kind of honesty with self is one way to practice bravery.

WHAT IS YOUR HARD TRUTH?
WHY IS IT HARD FOR YOU?

My hard truth is that my greatest weakness is my own head.
This truth is hard for me because it means that I am my own obstacle, which somewhat disappoints me.

The hard truth about myself is that I make mistakes. I hate admitting it, but we all make mistakes. I am getting better at accepting that I will make a lot of mistakes in life. And mistakes are lessons on how to do it better next time.
Admitting that I make mistakes and accepting that it’s ok to make a mistake is a hard truth for me because in today’s society, theres this feeling that everything and everybody has to be perfect.

I am scared to let new people into my life.
Because I good with making friends with random strangers and I’m good at making awkward situations not awkward but when I’m around girls who have known each other for a while I cave.

My hard truth is that I have I really hard time trusting people.
This truth causes me to put up communication walls between people making it hard to be myself and making me think I always have to please people.
