DAY 9: EXPERIENCE MATTERS

Experience is what we've been through, what we've learned, what we've gained and what we've lost. You wanna be out there looking for valuable experiences that teach you something.

FEAR

Confronting fear is scary. Don't make it that big. Fear is natural and you'd waste your time trying to make it smaller. Instead, search for the edge of your comfort zone and practice tip-toeing outside it.

FULL

Experiences that fill us to the brim stay with us. They'll be the ones you'll remember - best of days or the worst. They'll teach you what you want or don't want, how you want to feel or not feel, and who you want to be or not be.

FAILURE

You want to succeed, but trying (especially something hard) means you risk failure. Re-frame: Trying is bravery. Success AND failure are both good teachers. But, failure is the best teacher ever.

Quick FEAR Reflection

INJURY AS AN

OPPORTUNITY TO GROW

World Champion Sam Apuzzo talks about how getting injured gave her the opportunity to work on important skills like leadership and communication.

ARE YOU

LIMITING YOURSELF?

2021 AU PRO and Northwestern Alum Shelby Fredricks talks about her hard truth: Self-limiting beliefs.

How have the stories you've told yourself about what is possible (or not possible) for you affecting how and what you go after?

@shelbyfredericks

Self-Limiting Beliefs: Assumptions or perceptions that you've got about yourself and about the way the world works. These assumptions are “self-limiting” because in some way they're holding you back from achieving what you are capable of.
