Premier x Brave: The Partnership

This partnership is designed to provide mental toughness and resilience training to Premier athletes.

Throughout the year, Premier players will learn skills that will translate to increased resilience, risk-taking play, and most importantly confidence, while connecting them to their teammates and the organization's values.

Brave will be onsite with players on three occasions with clear objectives:

November 2, 2025: Introduce emotional/physical/psychological warm-up readying confidence and risk-taking for players.
February, 2026: Take warm-up to skills training, adding pace and pressure to fundamentals to exercise distress management and comfort zone expansion.
June, 2026: Pressure practice that folds in bravery training throughout a practice that includes warm-up, skills, competitive drills, and high-stakes scrimmaging.

Data Capture

Brave uses data to inform our programming. In order to bring the best experiences to every group, we rely on quantitative and qualitative responses to inform how we tailor the work. We never share data and use matched surveys from both pre- and post-session surveys to create a Brave Analysis.

Here are our answers!

What we know.

This is a brief summary of our findings after nearly 10 years of work, 20,000 participants, and over 550 sessions nationwide.

How we use our data.

We design our experiences to help people practice in their fear, providing relevant reps for real life.

Our data set is growing rapidly, providing invaluable insight on how people feel, fear, and brave. This information allows us to iterate our programming for maximum impact.

We prioritize fun through experiential learning, helping people understand, move through and build tools to manage their fear.

Bravery is an all-terrain skill. That is, you can learn it now and use it in every aspect of your life. Sports are a great way to learn bravery >>

Brave x Premier Activators

These two Brave Activators and lacrosse coaches will leading this partnership. They will be in Pittsburgh, at practices, in November, February, and May/June (TBA) working and meeting with players, coaches, and parents of the club.

Crista Samaras

Lacrosse: Crista played at Princeton and was Rookie of the Year and 2x Player of the Year, and records she set upon graduation in 1999 held for 23 years. She was a 3x All American, played on both the 2001 and 2005 World Cup Teams, and as honored with the inaugural Legacy Award by USA Lacrosse in 2022 and is being inducted into the USA Lacrosse National Hall of Fame in 2025.

Career: Crista's passion and work have been for the underdog. First, in lacrosse, she built a national club team called XTEAM that drew from over 30 non-traditional lacrosse playig states (CA, WA, MN, FL, GA, AL, etc) and placed athletes in many of the top DI, DII, and DIII programs. With 1500 girls playing nationwide, she sold this company in 2014.

She then built Brave in 2016 to help underdogs understand fear as a cue in order to leverage bravery toward their mental health and their goals. Brave data has changed the landscape of how science-based principles are activated in people.

Sarah Fisher

“Fish" grew up in Vermont, determined to learn and master lacrosse long before it was widely available to girls in her area. She played for Crista at XTEAM, the same community where Brave programming first began, and eventually earned offers to play at the Division I level. During college, she coached with XTEAM, sharing her love for the game and mentoring younger players.

Fish has been involved with Brave since its inception—interning, marketing, sales, and program delivery—wearing many hats along the way. Her favorite role is activating Brave sessions and seeing the program’s impact in real time. "There's nothing better than witnessing someone do something they thought they couldn’t—for the first time," says Fish.

By day, Fish leads the Sales & Marketing team for a Microsoft partner in Denver, CO. Outside of work, Fish is happiest outdoors: playing with her dog, skiing, mountain biking, rollerblading—just about anything that gets her in the sunshine.
